About Us

Herbert Daughtry Jr. has dedicated over 25 years to education, serving in various instructional and leadership roles that have transformed student achievement.
For more than a decade, he has focused on leadership development and support, honing his skills as a consultant and trainer in the Newark Public Schools. Herbert has worked with school leaders at all levels of K-12 education—serving as a formal trainer, informal thought partner, and program facilitator. Having designed and led multiple training programs for administrators, he is well-equipped to support leaders at any stage of their career.
Herbert began his career as a teacher in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, where he also served as an academic interventionist, sub-school coordinator, and leadership team member. As the founding principal of a middle school in Brownsville, Brooklyn he led a team of educators who were able significantly impact student achievement. During his 6 years as principal, math proficiency increased by over 40 percentage points, and language arts scores improved by more than 30 percentage points. Additionally, most of his students graduated middle school having completed at least two high school Regents courses, expanding their academic opportunities.
Herbert brings his experience as a teacher, interventionist, school leader, district leader, trainer, and coach to his work with every administrator and district he encounters. His goal is to help leaders clarify and complete their missions.
